Circuit crowns champs.

J-Byrd Morrow of Wayland, Iowa, took home the bull riding title at the Dodge Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo, presented by the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., as the only cowboy to successfully ride all three bulls. Morrow scored 237 points on three head and placed in every round to win the title.

Also in Louisville, Ky., tie-down roper Matt McGee of Oakridge, Mo., won the first two rounds outright and tied for the title in the third as he claimed the circuit finals rodeo average title by more than four seconds. McGee recorded times of 8.4, 8.5 and 8.2 seconds en route to recording a total time of 25.1 seconds.

Other Great Lakes Circuit average champions were bareback rider Bee Jay Scott of Otley, Iowa, 246 points on three head; saddle bronc rider Ty Atchison of Jackson, Mo.; steer wrestler Jon Ragatz of Cassville, Wis., 14.7 seconds on three head; team ropers Donnie McNeece of McLouth, Kan./Chad Mathes of Marshall, Mo., 20.4 seconds; and barrel racer Tammy Whyte of Eau Claire, Wis., 47.40 seconds on three runs.
